Union Day

Union Day is one of the great traditions that have helped to make Clongowes what it is. It is the occasion when the graduating class effectively finish their second-level schooling, when the incoming School Captain, Secretary and Vice-Captain are appointed, and when the new President of the Union takes up his Chain of Office.

Fr Peter Kenney Day

Fr Rector Michael Sheil SJ OC ’56 invites all Old Clongownians who have left Clongowes forty years ago or more and a guest to join him for the annual Fr Peter Kenney Day in June which celebrates the founding father of the College.

Mass for Deceased

The Annual Remembrance Mass for deceased Old Clongownians, members of staff and Jesuits of Clongowes takes place in November. The Mass is streamed live online to families past and present, and friends of the College.

Benefactors Mass

Fr Rector Michael Sheil SJ OC ’56 celebrates a Mass of Thanksgiving for all benefactors and donors whose generosity has ensured that Clongowes remains at the forefront of Irish and international education.

In 2022 the Mass took place at 11am in the Sports Hall.  Prior to the Mass at 10.30am Clongowes Foundation hosted an unveiling ceremony dedicating a Plaque in gratitude to Richard Robinson OC’38 whose generous legacy gave support to the refurbishment of the Infirmary in 2021 and the Alberto Hurtado Endowment Fund.
