“When I visited Clongowes, I was blown away by the warm and homely atmosphere”

We may not be able to invite you to visit our school at the moment, but we have created this open evening to provide you with as much of a feel for Clongowes as we can, online.

Clongowes Wood College is a leading boarding school set in beautiful surroundings, thirty kilometres from Dublin in the heart of the Co. Kildare countryside. A Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition, Clongowes strives to support students in their growth towards a greater understanding and awareness of their faith and the part that this plays in their lives.

Boarding at Clongowes offers your son the opportunity to live in a warm, vibrant and active community where he can fulfil his potential in a supportive environment. Clongowes is a warm and happy place – a home away from home for our community of 450 boys from Ireland and abroad.

The Open Evening will allow you to find out more about what life is like at Clongowes, including a welcome from the Headmaster, and a series of 5-10 minute webinar sessions, including;

  • Our Jesuit ethos
  • Boarding life
  • Daily life for students
  • Our approach to teaching and learning
  • Hear from our students
  • Hear from our parents
  • Q&A session

We offer 7-day boarding with extended weekend breaks every month where the boys go home.  Parents are welcome to drop in to visit their sons during the week with Wednesdays and Saturdays afternoons busy with parents visiting to watch sports, and on Sundays as the boys can go home for the day after Mass.  Families are encouraged to partake in the life of the school, in organising events, in attending mass every Sunday and in sports.
