SciFest at Clongowes - Clongowes Wood College

Posted: 13th March 2025

Elements students took part in their first SciFest in February, displaying their scientific projects to external judges, staff and fellow students.

The SciFest fair is a highlight of the year for many students as they get to choose a area of scientific investigation that interests them, complete their study and finally present their findings.  You’ll see from the list of projects below the rich variety of subject areas that the boys have chosen to study.

SciFest is a wonderful way for the boys to put their learning into action – igniting their love of STEM.  The winners of Clongowes SciFest go on to compete at DCU. Jack Shannon OC, was crowned National Champion last year and went on to represent Ireland at ISEF, winning first place in his category.

Ms Nolan, Elements Academic Year Head and teacher of science and biology has spearheaded the SciFest for STEM at Clongowes and is supported by Sheila Porter, SciFest CEO and her team.

Congratulations to this year’s SciFest Winners!
