Welcome to Clongowes Wood College SJ
“When I visited Clongowes, I was blown away by the warm and homely atmosphere”
Clongowes Wood is a leading boys’ boarding school set in beautiful, countryside surroundings, 30 kilometres from Dublin. A Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition, Clongowes supports students in a greater understanding of their faith, and the part it plays throughout their lives.
Because students board here from First Year, they enjoy an all-round education in a dynamic living and learning community – ‘full boarding, for a fuller life’. Our facilities are exemplary, and each student has the opportunity, support and guidance to help them develop and grow to their full potential.
Since 1814, Clongowes alumni have been leaders in the area of business, sports, politics and the arts. Today, we are home to 450 boys from Ireland and internationally.
Clongowes offers a unique experience for boys from 12 to 18 – a warm and nurturing home from home, where every student benefits from an all-round education in a positive, welcoming environment.
We offer 7-day boarding with extended weekend breaks every month where the boys go home, as well as optional Saturdays and weekends at home. Parents are welcome to drop by to visit their sons during the week with Wednesdays and Saturdays afternoons busy with parents visiting to watch sports, and on Sundays as the boys can go home for the day after Mass.
