Trad for Trócaire

On Tuesday 17th of October the Trad group returned to Connolly’s of Ballagh for our annual ‘Trad for Trócaire’ Session. Thankfully Hurricane Ophelia did not inflict any damage on Connolly’s but the trad group certainly raised the roof with a great set of tunes. We were delighted to be able to bring our two newest members Patrick and Gearoid, with us. Both boys are excellent musicians and well able to hold their own in the group. The night was very successful for both the musicians and Trócaire.

Under the leadership of Ms Catherine Heslin, the Clongowes Trad Group is a collaboration between staff and students across all years. ‘Trad for Trócaire’ is a national event promoting the use of Irish music sessions as a means of raising money for Trócaire, the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland. The Clongowes group has participated in this event for the past three years and has raised well over €1,200 to date for this great charity.
