Bouyed and enthused by the success of the Sports Day a few weeks ago, the gentlemen of the Cross Country Team betook themselves to Carlow last week for the first leg of the Three Counties Cross Country on 26th September under the tutelage of their coach, Mr Shane Heslin…
An encouraging number of boys had performed well at trials and were selected to travel to to Carlow last week for the first leg of the Three Counties Cross Country. For many of the boys, this event brought the added excitement of being the first time to wear the representative colours of the college. The weather, unusually for a cross country event, cooperated and the boys from all teams gave a solid account of themselves.
Special mention, however, goes to
- Andrew Hanley (Senior)
- Karl Tombraegel (Intermediate) and
- James O’Donoghue (Junior)
as well as Minors Padraic Spillane, Tom Murtagh and Peter McGuinness.
The next event is scheduled for 19th October where we hope to build our initial success.
