It has been a good first term for golfers at Clongowes and this has been reflected in the from of senior skipper Conor Mulholland (Rhetoric), who has been on the Leinster under 18 panel for the last two years. Brothers James and Niall McCormick (Poetry) participated in the Ulster U-21 Youth Championship in Royal Belfast golf club during the summer, while James also won the Grange GC Youths Cup in June. Paddy Culhane (also Poetry) has twice been Connacht inter provincial champion and was part of Galway’s Fred Daly team win at The European Nations Championship in Spain in 2015.
With all this in mind we chose for one of our mini company activities to provide good quality Clongowes crested golf balls for people keen to help the golfers in their lives! After consulting many suppliers and examining many models we settled on the Srixon Distance golf ball. It is a good ball, which will travel far and true when struck well and will remain in good condition for many games. Having the crest on will add to the pleasure for any golfer young or old.
As you can see from the photograph (kindly taken by College Photographer, Mr David Nelson) the set of 12 balls come nicely presented and would make a pleasant surprise for any golfer young or old. Thanks to my colleagues Kieran Clohessy and Thristian Hylle (pictured above with Luke Molloy) for their help and support with this venture.

All proceeds go towards the Transition Year Duck Push Fund, which will be used to purchase medical equipment to help sick children.
