Conditions were bright but chilly in Santry last Wednesday (February 10th) for the Leinster Cross Country finals where Jack O’Leary was attempting to retain his senior crown. Although the race was a tactically tight and cagey affair for the first half of the 6,000 meters, Jack made a decisive move at the right time to pull clear of the high quality field. Despite the best attempts of his pursuers, Jack held his lead to secure yet another Leinster title. (Jack and his coach, Mr Shane Heslin, pictured above – more pictures here).
Also representing the college in Santry were the promising Michael Spillane (Elements) and ever-improving Christian Casey (Poetry). Both lads showed tremendous grit on the tight, muddy track and much is expected of them in the future.
