Dr Fergus Heffernan a Clinical Psychologist, with an MSc in Family Therapies, and a PHD in Neuro Science (pictured here speaking at the Kilkenny Campus of NUI Maynooth) will be our speaker. Dr Heffernan has spent most of his 35-year career working with families in the most distressed areas of the world, affected by war, famine, earthquake, and hurricanes.
His presentations and workshops on ‘Creating Resilience in Families’ are much sought after in communities and universities all over the world. Fergus will look at why our young people do not seem to have created resilience and the role families can take in supporting their young people.
The day will begin at 09.30 with tea and coffee and will end by 13.00. Mass will follow the presentation at 11.30 and the day will conclude with lunch in the refectory.
Please RSVP to Liz Griffin at lgriffin@clongowes.net or 045 838294 before this Friday 8th January at 12.00 and let us know if you would like to stay for lunch.
