On Tuesday October 1st the Clongowes Traditional Irish Music Group took part in the annual ‘Trad for Trocaire’ at Connolly’s pub in Ballagh.
The event was run in conjunction with the Religion department and further embodied the spirit of ‘men for others’. The musicians played a lively selection of jigs and reels to a packed house made up of staff, parents and locals. The group was joined by five students from Elements who have worked really hard in recent weeks preparing for the occasion. It was a hugely successful event with over 400 euro raised on the night.
The following boys represented the college on the night:
Elements: Sean Brogan, John Maher, Sean O’Grady, Robbie Savage, Fred Sargaison
Syntax: Hugh Farrell, Jack Savage,
Poetry: Conor Breslin, Tim Burke, Eoghan McLoughlin,
Rhetoric: Dara Corbett, Jack Galvin, Ciaran Madden
Mr and Mrs Heslin would like to thank all of the participating musicians and all who came to support us.
Ms Catherine Heslin
