Transition Year Outdoor Pursuits Trip - Clongowes Wood College

Posted: 21st September 2012

Last week Transiton Year students took some time out for an adventure trip to celebrate their Junior Certificate results. Spencer Adamson reports.

“On the 11th of September transition year embarked on our Outdoor Pursuit trip to Rostrevor, Co. Down. When we arrived we were welcomed by the staff of East Coast adventure. After our long bus journey we ate in the centre and we were then split into three groups, A, B and C. Group A were the first to go hiking and camping. Meanwhile, group B were doing zip-lining and group C were doing water sports. During the 4 days we swapped activities. After each day we were all very tired, especially the people hiking, and we all appreciated our beds that night.

On the day of our Junior Certificate results there were mixed emotions, but the majority of people were pleased. All of the year enjoyed the trip to Rostrevor and we hope all the future transition year students enjoy the trip as much as we did.”
