Seachtain na Gaeilge - Clongowes Wood College

Posted: 24th March 2014

Beginning on Monday the 24th March we will celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge in Coláiste Choill Chluana Gabhann (the college of the wood of the meadow of the blacksmith) for those who may have wondered what Clongowes actually meant. I would like to thank all teachers in advance of this for their cooperation and whatever cúpla focal you possess will be hugely appreciated by your students.

Le linn na seachtaine the Irish Department has organized table quizzes, poster competitions, debates, library time, oral Irish competitions, music, song and dance and on Friday 28th March we will have a Ceardlann Gaeilge for Rhetoric students from 1.30 to 3.30 pm. Please feel free to drop in to the library to view us as we do our final preparation for the Leaving Cert Oral exam which will commence the following Monday.

Beir bua is beannacht agus ná  déan dearmad—

muna bhfuil agat focal as Gaeilge

ná bíodh faoi bhuairt ná faoi bhrón

ach abair an focal as béarla

is cuir” áil” leis an tóin!!

Gach deaghuí i gcónaí

An Tuas Pádraig O Lionnáin
