Mary Collins RIP - Clongowes Wood College

Clongowes Wood College SJ

As the new term was about to start, we received the sad news of the death of Mary Collins, may she rest in peace.

Mary started work here in 1979, just after finishing school, and gave 36 years’ loyal and dedicated service to Clongowes. Mary’s main work involved dealing with parents on all matters relating to school fees: from issuing of invoices, to fee collections and the myriad queries that invariably arise throughout an academic year. I am sure that all parents who had contact with Mary, over many years, will remember her as an efficient, good humoured and compassionate member of staff, always willing to offer guidance and assistance to those who needed it.

Mary will be sadly missed by her close colleagues in the Finance Office and the entire Clongowes family.

The College was well represented by colleagues, past and present, pupils and parents at yesterday’s funeral Mass in Clane Parish Church. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary’s family, including Stephen (OC05) and Niall (OC08), at this time.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam uasal.
