While all participants are to to be praised for their efforts in pursuit of the Corinthian ideal, special mention must be made of Nicolas Rinklin who broke the Syntax record for the shot putt with a throw of 12.98m. After many a twist and turn and plenty of running, jumping and throwing, the boys of Collins House emerged triumphant with 106 points and their leader Ronan Breslin proudly received the trophy from Messrs Frank Kelly and Martin Wallace on the steps of the pavilion.
Thanks are due to all who helped make the day such a success: all who competed; the staff and GAP students who adjucated; Eamonn Dempsey and Sean Costello for preparing the track; our photographers David Nelson and Fr Jim Culliton; the Kitchen Staff for a great meal afterwards and our very special guest ‘Trampas’.
