With an Indian summer in full swing, the Sports Hall provided a suitably open and bright environment for the school to celebrate the Opening of the School Year Mass. Led by Fr. Michael Sheil SJ, the school gathered to rejoice in all that Clongowes has to offer. While various groups throughout the country begin to put plans in place to mark the respective centenaries of significant moments in Irish history, the Clongowes community is similarly engaged in commemorating its 200th year. Fr. Sheil paid tribute to all those who have sustained the school in that time, many people who have given of themselves for the greater glory.
The joyous mood of the mass set the tone for the rest of the day as the boys set about their activities in the glorious sunshine.
