Niamh de Burca of Gael Linn visited the school on Tuesday to present Gavin Moore and George O’Brien Kelly of Transition Year with their award as third place prizewinners in the Gael Linn Radio Programme Competition. Their programme ‘Tumoideachas’ came third overall in entries in Category B schools – non-Gaelscoil or Gaeltacht schools. Seventy entries were submitted in total. The programme recorded the educational experience of students currently in Clongowes who had attended schools in Japan, Poland, Germany and Australia as well as an interview with current First Year students who had attended boarding school in Rinn, Waterford and an interview with Patrick McEnroy currently spending this academic year in a school in China.
