CARDINAL CARLO MARTINI S.J. RIP sadly passed away on 31st August this year R.I.P. He was appointed archbishop of Milan by Pope John Paul II where he remained until 2002 at which point he retired. He was a truly inspiring man whose views were considered to be liberal and progressive. This, of course, meant that Cardinal Martini became controversial at times. He has written extensively on church matters and urged major reform within the Catholic Church, as can be read in the last interview he gave and which is available here: http://www.kandle.ie/cardinal-
