Elements Tour 2019 | Clongowes Wood College

Posted: 22nd January 2019

Belfast: Tuesday 22nd January – Friday 25th January

Elements departed on their traditional tour to Belfast this morning, where their action-packed itinerary over four days includes a whole range of educational, cultural and sporting activities across the Belfast area.

The trip will kick off (literally) with three rugby fixtures against old rivals Campbell College
this afternoon. This is the first of two rugby commitments, as the three teams will also face the young men of The Royal Belfast Academical Institution on Thursday afternoon. The A team will be seeking to overturn their two narrow defeats last year while the Bs and Cs will hope to extend their winning runs.

Over the course of the tour, the boys will also visit the Dundonald Ice Bowl for bowling and ice skating, The Dundonald Omniplex and the award-winning Titanic Exhibition. W5 – an interactive science museum – with its prawn cracker shaped stairs, climbing and robot attractions along with temporary exhibits and daily demonstrations is always a hit while any excess energy may be burnt off at the Lisburn Leisureplex (an indoor water park)
, and Trigger Happy (for some indoor paintball).

On tour, the boys will be accompanied by Prefects Tony Egan, Garry Corcoran and Daryl Maxwell, the Rector, Fr. Michael Sheil S.J., Nurse Jetta Weld and newly arrived GAP Students, Marcke De Vera, Oliver Seymour.
